A Sudbury wedding photographer's dream destination wedding & elopement  bucket list

There’s something about stepping into a place that feels bigger than you. The kind of place that shifts your perspective, softens time, and makes everything feel a little more alive.

I’ve had that pull for as long as I can remember. A constant itch to go, to see, to wander. I’ve always been a seeker of experience, of culture, of stories unfolding somewhere unfamiliar. Travel has never just been something I enjoy, it’s something that shapes how I see everything.

Last year, I photographed a destination wedding in Mexico, and something in me just clicked. The energy, the freedom, the way the day unfolded without pressure or expectation… it felt exactly like the kind of work I want to create more of.

Because at the core of it, I’m drawn to couples who do things their own way. The ones who aren’t following a script, who care more about how it feels than how it’s “supposed” to look. Destination weddings and elopements naturally carry that energy, and being able to pair that with my love of travel feels like everything aligning at once.

This is a collection of the places I feel most pulled toward. Not just for how they look, but for how they feel. The atmosphere, the movement, the emotion they hold.

And if you’re planning something in one of these locations… I offer special rates for destination weddings and elopements, with a little something extra for the places sitting at the very top of my bucket list.

Iceland Elopements

Wild, wind-soaked, and completely untamed

Iceland feels like another world entirely. Black sand beaches, endless skies, waterfalls that appear out of nowhere. It’s raw, immersive, and constantly shifting in the best possible way. This is for the kind of couple that doesn’t want to be contained. Wind in your hair, rain on your skin, no strict timeline pulling you away from the moment. Just movement, connection, and imagery that feels alive in a way you can’t quite recreate anywhere else. And somewhere in all of that… capturing a couple beneath the northern lights is one of those dreams that sits high on my list. That kind of quiet, surreal moment where everything feels bigger than just the day itself.

Italy Weddings

Romantic, textured, and effortlessly timeless

Italy holds a different kind of weight. It’s slower, richer, layered with history and feeling in a way that lingers long after you leave. I’ve been lucky enough to travel there, and I spent most of my time in Venice & Verona… getting lost in quiet alleyways, watching the light move across the canals, feeling like time didn’t quite work the same way there. But I know that’s only a small piece of what Italy is. There’s so much more I want to see, from the coastlines to the countryside, to the places that feel tucked away and untouched. This is for the kind of couple drawn to depth. Old architecture, warm air, late dinners that turn into night, moments that feel like they belong in another era. A wedding or elopement here isn’t rushed. It unfolds. Italy isn’t just a backdrop, it becomes part of the story.

Switzerland Elopements

Stillness, scale, and a quiet kind of magic

Switzerland feels quiet in a way that’s hard to explain. Mountains rising in every direction, air that feels still, like everything is holding its breath. I’ve travelled through Switzerland and felt that stillness firsthand, spending time in Lucerne, Bern, and Zurich. I visited Mount Pilatus, stood along Lake Lucerne, and moved through places that didn’t feel real until I was standing in them. It’s the kind of landscape that slows you down without asking.Switzerland still has my heart. It’s a place I would go back to in an instant. There’s something about it that stays with you. Photographing love here would be about preserving that feeling. Something intimate, grounded, and surrounded by a kind of natural presence that doesn’t need anything added to it.

Jamaica Destination Weddings

Warm air, ocean rhythm, and movement you can feel

Jamaica feels like rhythm. Warm air, sunlight on skin, ocean moving in the background, music somewhere just out of frame. It’s a place I haven’t travelled to yet, but it’s one I feel drawn to in that instinctive way. The kind of place where the energy leads, where nothing feels forced, and everything unfolds naturally. For couples who want their day to feel alive and unfiltered, this is it. Barefoot, sun-soaked, a little wild in the best way. Movement, laughter, moments that aren’t overly structured but somehow fall exactly into place. The kind of wedding that feels less like a production and more like something you’re living inside of.

France

Soft light, quiet elegance, and stories that unfold gently

France feels like poetry. Soft light, quiet architecture, and a kind of understated romance that doesn’t need to try too hard. It’s the kind of place where everything feels a little more intentional. The way light falls through windows, the texture of old stone, the stillness of a quiet street just before evening. Nothing is rushed, nothing is loud, but everything holds meaning. Whether it’s a château, a tucked-away village, or somewhere deep in the countryside, this is about elegance that still feels human. Refined without being rigid, romantic without being overdone. A wedding here doesn’t need much. Just the right atmosphere, the right energy, and the space to let the story unfold on its own.

Banff

Where the mountains hold everything a little closer

Banff has a way of making everything feel significant. Towering mountains, glacial lakes, that unreal blue water that almost doesn’t look real. There’s a weight to the landscape here, like everything matters just a little more. The quiet, the scale, the way the light moves across the peaks. It pulls you in and makes you present without even trying. For couples who want something adventurous but still deeply connected, this is where both worlds meet. You can hike, explore, chase views… and then step into moments that feel grounded and intimate all at once. It’s the kind of place where you don’t need to add anything. Just show up, be in it, and let everything else fall into place.

Ireland

Wild skies, deep greens, and a feeling you’ve known before

Ireland feels like a memory you can’t quite place. Rolling green landscapes, cliffs meeting the ocean, skies that never sit still. There’s something deeply familiar about it, even if you’ve never been. Like you’ve felt it before in a dream or in a story you can’t fully remember. It’s emotional in a quiet way, layered and a little unpredictable. For couples drawn to something raw and atmospheric, this is where everything feels a bit more open. Wind moving through everything, light shifting constantly, moments that feel unpolished in the best possible way. It’s not perfect, and that’s exactly what makes it so good.

Las Vegas Elopements

Neon nights, no rules, and everything a little louder

Las Vegas is energy. Neon lights, late nights, no expectations. It’s bold, a little chaotic, and completely unapologetic. The kind of place where you can throw out the rulebook and do exactly what you want without overthinking it. I’ve always wanted to photograph an elopement in one of those little chapels right on the strip. It’s literally a cinematic dream for me. That nostalgic, filmic, slightly chaotic energy… it hits everything I love about storytelling. And if we’re being specific, Sure Thing Chapel is my dream. So if you’re even thinking about eloping there… consider this your sign. I’m already halfway packed. For couples who want something playful, rebellious, and fully themselves, Vegas doesn’t hold anything back. It just lets you go all in.

California Weddings & Elopements

Golden light, open roads, and a story that feels like a film

California feels cinematic without trying. Coastlines, desert landscapes, city energy, all offering something completely different. It’s the kind of place where you can shape the day entirely around your vision. Whether it’s Yosemite, Joshua Tree, Big Sur, Malibu, or somewhere completely unexpected, I’m there for it. These aren’t just specific locations to me, they’re places I feel pulled to explore, each with their own atmosphere and story to step into. There’s a freedom here. Long drives, golden hour that lingers, moments that feel unscripted but somehow perfectly placed. It doesn’t have to look one way, it just has to feel like you. For couples who want something expressive, cinematic, and a little bit untamed, California gives you the space to create it your own way.

Alaska Elopements

Vast, untouched, and completely humbling

Alaska feels bigger than everything. Endless landscapes, towering mountains, glaciers that stretch farther than you can see. It’s quiet, but not empty. More like everything is existing on a scale that makes you slow down and take it in. There’s something about it that feels untouched. Raw in a way that doesn’t try to impress, it just is. The kind of place where you don’t need much. Just the two of you, surrounded by something that makes everything else feel small in comparison. This is for couples who want to step outside of everything familiar. No distractions, no noise, just presence and connection in its purest form. It’s not about perfection here. It’s about feeling something real, somewhere that doesn’t ask anything from you except to be in it.

New York City Elopements

Fast, electric, and full of feeling

New York City is movement. Streets that never really slow down, light bouncing off everything, moments happening all at once. I’ve been there, and there’s something about the energy that stays with you. It’s loud, alive, a little overwhelming in the best way, but somehow you can still find these quiet pockets tucked in between it all. This is for couples who want something real and unfiltered. Running through crosswalks, city noise in the background, stolen moments on sidewalks or rooftops. It’s not about perfection, it’s about presence. There’s a kind of intimacy here that hits differently. Like the world is moving around you, but for a second, it’s just the two of you in it.

East Coast Canada Elopements (Bay of Fundy & Beyond)

Salt air, rugged coastlines, and tides that reshape everything

The East Coast of Canada feels raw in a way that pulls you in. Cliffs, rocky shorelines, ocean stretching endlessly, and tides that move in ways you can actually feel. I haven’t made it out there yet, but it’s one of those places that sits quietly on my list, calling in its own way. The kind of landscape that doesn’t need much added to it. It already holds so much character and depth. Places like the Bay of Fundy, with its dramatic tides and textured coastline, feel almost surreal. Like the land itself is constantly shifting, changing the way everything looks from one moment to the next. For couples who are drawn to something grounded and a little wild, this is it. Wind in your hair, ocean air on your skin, moments that feel honest and unfiltered. It’s not polished, and that’s exactly what makes it so beautiful.

Yukon Elopements

Quiet wilderness, endless sky, and something deeply felt

The Yukon feels untouched in a way that’s hard to come by. Vast landscapes, open skies, forests that stretch endlessly, and a kind of stillness that doesn’t feel empty, just grounded.

It’s a place I haven’t experienced yet, but one that feels deeply aligned with the kind of work I’m drawn to. Less about spectacle, more about presence. Space to breathe, to slow down, to actually feel what’s happening. There’s something about the north that carries a different kind of energy. Long light in the summer, deep darkness in the winter, and skies that hold more than just the day. It feels expansive, but also incredibly intimate at the same time. For couples who want something stripped back and real, this is it. No distractions, no pressure, just the two of you in a place that asks you to be fully there.

British Columbia Elopements

Coastlines, forests, and a kind of quiet depth

British Columbia feels expansive in a different way. Not empty, but full. Dense forests, rugged coastlines, mountains that rise out of nowhere, all existing together in this layered, immersive landscape. It’s a place I haven’t been to yet, but it’s high on my list. I have family there, which makes it feel a little more personal, like somewhere I’m already connected to in a way. Somewhere I know I’ll end up. There’s something about BC that feels grounding. The kind of place where everything slows just enough for you to take it in. Ocean air, trees that tower over everything, light filtering through in a way that feels soft but intentional. For couples who want a balance of adventure and stillness, this is it. You can explore, move, and chase landscapes… but also step into moments that feel quiet, intimate, and deeply rooted.

Why Bring Me With You?

Destination weddings and elopements aren’t just about where you go, they’re about how it feels while you’re there.

My approach is a mix of photojournalism and editorial direction, which means I’m there to document what naturally unfolds, but also step in when needed to elevate the moment in a way that still feels like you.

I pay attention to the environment just as much as the connection. The light, the movement, the atmosphere, all of it plays a role in how your story is told. And because I’m already someone who’s constantly seeking out new places, new experiences, and new perspectives, this kind of work isn’t something I’m forcing myself into. It’s something I naturally move toward.

When you bring me along, you’re not just hiring someone to take photos. You’re bringing someone who’s fully invested in the experience, someone who knows how to read a moment, and someone who will document it in a way that feels honest, cinematic, and true to you.

If You’re Dreaming Something Like This…

If one of these places feels like it’s pulling at you, or you have somewhere else in mind entirely, I’d love to hear what you’re thinking.

Even if it’s just an idea right now.

If you’re dreaming about getting married somewhere outside of the expected, you don’t have to have it all figured out before reaching out. A lot of the couples I work with start with a feeling more than a plan. A place they’re drawn to, a vision they can’t fully explain yet, or just the desire to do something different. I will help guide that process in a way that still feels like you. From location ideas and timing, to building a timeline that actually allows you to be present in the experience, not rushed through it. Whether you’re eloping with just the two of you or bringing a small group along, the focus stays the same; Creating something that feels intentional, personal, and real.
