Jessica & Rick’s Engagement Session at Mallard’s Landing Trail | Sudbury, Ontario
Jessica and Rick chose a place that already meant something to them.
Mallard’s Landing Trail in Sudbury isn’t just a pretty backdrop — it’s part of their everyday. The kind of place you end up walking through without thinking, where conversations happen naturally and time moves a little slower.
Shooting their engagement session there felt less like a “session” and more like stepping into something that already existed.
It was November, right on that edge where everything starts to quiet down. The leaves had mostly fallen, the air had that crisp weight to it, and the light felt soft and low — the kind that wraps around everything instead of hitting it head-on.
We kept things simple. No over-directing, no forcing anything that wasn’t already there. Just movement, space, and letting them fall into their rhythm together. The way they walk side by side, the small glances, the ease between them — that’s where everything lived.
These are the kinds of sessions that always stick with me. Not because of big moments, but because of the in-between ones. The kind you don’t plan, but end up meaning the most.
